Code Snippet Libraries Save Time and Increase Productivity

Whether they used a snippet manager that was baked into a particular tool or developed their own system of sifting through source files to find useful nuggets of code, the result is the same. Reusing code is always better than writing it from scratch or finding it on the internet. Whatever editor you code in, whether it's a fully featured Integrated Development Environment like Visual Studio and Eclipse, or a simple text editor, Snip-It Pro makes it easier to reuse your code.

Snip-It Pro docks to either the left or right of your screen, allowing you to simply drag and drop code from Snip-It Pro right into your IDE. Creating snippets is just as easy. First create folders to organize your code library the way you want to. Then select the text you want to turn into a snippet and then drag it into the folder where you want to save it.

Organize Code the Way You Want

Snip-It Pro makes it easy to organize your snippets the way you want them. Create and nest folders to make it easy to find both commonly and rarely used snippets. Drag and Drop snippets and folders from one location to the other. Hold down the Ctrl key and copy entire directories with ease.

Snip-It Pro offers multiple ways to add "snippets," including:

• Dragging content from other applications directly into a Snip-It Pro folder or subfolder.
• Pasting the content of the clipboard directly into a Snip-It Pro folder or subfolder.
• Using the built-in rich text editor to author a new "snippet."

Power Tips

• If the snippet has a plain text version and you wish to not bring the snippet's formatting into the destination application, hold down the "Ctrl" key before beginning the drag.
• If you want to easily convert the snippet and its formatting to HTML, hold down the "Shift" key before beginning the drag. Snip-It Pro will convert most basic snippets to html, but advanced layouts are not supported.
• You can select Snippets using the arrow keys. When you have the snippet you want to copy highlighted, use Ctrl+X or Ctrl+C to copy the snippet to the clipboard.
